How to Feel Festive at Home for the Holidays {Part 1}

Ah the Holidays. And not just any Holiday, but in the dumpster fire of 2020. We cancelled travel plans to see family over the New Year and will be spending Christmas and New Year’s on our own this year. It’s sad to think that it’s been so long since seeing family, but I’m determined to feel festive at home for the holidays this year.

There’s no better way to feel festive than by putting on something that makes you feel good. I’m styling two of my favorite dresses from Emerson Fry (more of their stuff in this post) and each one is perfect for wearing at home (and of course going out when Covid is under control). In this post, I’m wearing the Lucy Dress and it’s a gem.

This dress is so easy to move around in and also is really lightweight. It’s not tight or clingy so don’t worry about feeling constricted or uncomfortable during your meal. Pour yourself a glass of wine and fire up your favorite Holiday tunes and I’m willing to bet you will feel merry and bright.

In case you are curious about what’s in my mug (it’s not alcohol, but you will get zero judgement from me on day drinking), it’s Brave Bone Broth. I’ve been trying to wean myself from an unhealthy level of caffeine intake and have since substituted bone broth for my afternoon coffee. There are all kinds of health benefits that you can read about on her site, but I love the way it tastes and it’s perfect for chilly winter days. I highly recommend trying these out.

Did I mention that this dress has puffy sleeves? Never met a puffy sleeve that I didn’t like. If you are into this dress and your size is sold out, sign up to be notified when it comes back in stock and you’ll get an email. This dress was a big hit and sold fast. I also linked a few other Emerson Fry dresses that I truly love for the Holidays at the very end of the post.

Guys, I decorated my dining room for Christmas this year and it makes me happy. I prefer to keep things simple, so I used fresh Eucalyptus from Trader Joes, bottle brush trees from Target and an assortment of votives that we already own. It’s another really easy and simple way to feel festive and happy at home this year. The bottle brush trees are inexpensive and you can find them anywhere. If you are all in on the Holiday decor like we are, check out this pre-lit twinkling tree. We put this in our dining room right in front of the window and it might be my favorite thing in our house right now.
